wallpaper changing utility for GNOME

Note: wallpaper-tray is beta software and may not work as expected.

wallpaper-tray is a wallpaper utility that sits on the GNOME panel. It gives you a random wallpaper from a chosen directory at logon, on a timer, and allows you to select a new wallpaper at random from its menu.

Install the wallpaper-tray package. See. Then run the command:

wallpaper-tray

To make wallpaper-tray run on login, in Gnome:

  1. System: Preferences: Sessions
  2. In the Startup Programs tab click New
  3. Name: Wallpaper Tray
  4. Command: /usr/bin/wallpaper-tray
